Culver City Boy Scout Troop 113 will hold its annual all-you-can eat spaghetti dinner on Saturday, April 18, at Culver high school's cafeteria.
The popular event drew about 500 local residents last year. A feast of spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and non-alcoholic drinks will be served cafeteria-style from 3 p.m. to 7.
The cafeteria is on the western side of the campus, 4401 Elenda St. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door.
The spaghetti dinner is the Scout's biggest fundraiser of the year. For each $5 ticket sold, $4 of the amount is put directly into the seller's "Scout account" to help pay for campout fees and other fun events throughout the year.
Much of the food and supplies are donated by Sorrento Italian Market, nearby supermarkets and other local retailers. Businesses and individuals wishing to make a tax-deductible cash contribution can send a check made out to "BSA Troop 113" and mail it to 10866 Culver Blvd., Culver City 90232.
Troop 113 is one of the most active groups in Southern California. With its stated mission "to prepare young people to make ethical and moral decisions over their lifetimes," the boys learn valuable skills at their weekly Tuesday meetings at the recently renovated Scout House on Culver Boulevard, go camping nearly once every month, and take part in several community events each year.
Boys between the ages of 11 and 17 are welcome to join. Registration information can be obtained by calling Scoutmaster Erik Mayer at (310) 202-0113 or by sending an email to [email protected].
