Attack on Culver City Studio Cost Sony Millions

Sony Corporation on Wednesday released preliminary figures for damages from the massive hack on its computer systems last year. Sony pegs the loss at $15 million.

The hack, which the FBI has blamed on North Korea, became public in December when the Sony’s computers were crippled and sensitive documents were posted online.

The entertainment and electronics giant delayed the announcement of its earnings for the fourth quarter because the cyberattack affected its ability to compile its complete results in time.
