Meeting in a Minute/January 26, 2015
Here are some highlights from the City Council meeting of January 26, 2015. At this
meeting, the City Council:
• Received a presentation from representatives of the Culver City Sister City, Inc. who
recently visited Culver City's Sister City Iksan City, South Korea.
• Presented a proclamation designating February as American Hearth Month and
February 6, 2015 as "Go Red for Women Day."
• Received and filed the Measure Y Sales Tax Status Report.
• Approved an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Haynes
Building Services to begin providing janitorial services to the Culver City Transfer
Station in the annual amount of $47,357.68 and the Culver City Police Station in the
annual amount of $25,431.72.
• Approved the following to improve efficiency and reduce energy usage at various
City facilities: (1) a professional services agreement with Express Energy Services
in the amount of $404,095.55, (2) a professional services agreement with Setpoint
Systems Corporation in the amount of $575,603.00 to implement an Energy
Management System at various City facilities, and (3) a professional services
agreement with ACCO Engineered Systems in the amount of $183,643.79 for the
installation of variable frequency fans for the supply and return air fan motors at City
Hall as well as to connect the multi-zone direct expansion air handling units to the
Central Plant at the Police Department.
• Discussed the potential renaming of Washington Place and authorized the Mayor
and Staff to conduct initial research and make initial contacts and report back to the
City Council at a future date.
• Requested additional information regarding The Exchange Club's request for Citysponsorship of the First Annual First Responders' Day in the Park and Softball Game at the next City Council meeting.
