Dr. Wendy Mogel to Speak At Westside Neighborhood School

Westside Neighborhood School announces the first of its speaker series events, featuring Dr. Wendy Mogel, is scheduled for January 21 from 7 pm to 9. She will then be available to sign books.

Dr. Mogel is a clinical psychologist and author specializing in parenting. She’s a frequent guest on The Today Show and is regularly interviewed by the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and NPR.

A popular keynote speaker, she lectures widely at conferences and schools around the world. Currently she serves on the scientific advisory board of Parents Magazine and is a research and policy advisor for Challenge Success—a child advocacy program of the Stanford University School of Education.

Dr. Mogel is author of the New York Times-bestselling book The Blessing of a Skinned Knee, and her highly anticipated follow-up book, The Blessing of a B Minus, in which Dr. Mogel addresses the question asked most often by parents: "How can I be an effective parent in a culture that breeds anxiety and entitlement in children?"

Her presentation will focus on how to navigate the waters of raising resilient children and discuss how parents can raise self-reliant, appreciative children in a nervous and entitled world. .
