Over the last few weeks the Culver City Lions Club has held eyesight screenings in Culver City elementary schools. Students participating in the screenings are shown in the above photo. The tests are performed by optometrists in order to diagnose vision problems such as myopia, astigmatism and other conditions so that they can be corrected at an early age.
The Lions Club has been conducting these free eye screenings at the start of each school year since 1951. The organization has saved the Culver City Unified School District between $5,000 and $10,000 each year by providing this service.
