Saturday, October 18 at 8:40 am at Vets Park (Culver and Overland) near the picnic shelter and tennis courts pediatrician Sarah Carpenter, M.D. will
focus on Vitamins from A-D and K.
Where we get them, how they each help our bodies, how some people become deficient and whether we need supplements will be discussed.
Its a refresher for those who feel they know this pretty well – Doctor included. I am now semi retired, helping out when needed back at Kaiser Pediatrics in Panorama City.
In addition, two mornings a week I volunteer at the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center on the Culver City High campus. There I care for 10-12 patients each half day while teaching two fourth year medical students.
The health center also provides a huge amount of mental health care from psychology trainees led by two PhDs from the LA Child Development Center. I also am President of the Friends of the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center. We raise money for the Health Center through donations.
Warm-up and stretching with Brandon Webb, Culver-Palms Family YMCA Healthy Lifestyles Counselor, precedes the 9 am talk and walk. Our mission is to encourage healthy activity in people of all ages and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle.
This free event occurs on the third Saturday of every month. All ages and levels welcome. For more information visit meetup.com/Culver-City-Walk-With-a-Doc-Meetup/, http://www.docwalk.org, or contact gracelliott@sbcglobal.net.
