First Annual Event Features Tour of Art Galleries, Musical Performances

The Culver City Arts District (CCAD), a unique collection of art galleries, creative businesses, specialty retail and restaurants, will present its first annual Summer Solstice event on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 12pm to 7pm. The Culver City Arts District is located on Washington Boulevard between Helms and Fairifax Avenues. The Summer Solstice event will celebrate the longest day of the year with a free self-guided tour of art galleries exhibiting new, and distinguished artists, musical performances throughout the day at various venues, children’s arts and crafts and special discounts at several area restaurants and retail. Free musical performances will be provided in coordination with Make Music LA as part of a global musical festival taking place in more than 700 cities around the world on the same day. The event is also sponsored by the City of Culver City, the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, Visual Art Source, ArtScene, art ltd. and LAArtParty.com. The Culver City Arts District is also partnering with Metro to provide destination discounts for those who take Metro to the event! Grab your friends and family and enjoy a festive day in Culver City!

As parking in the area is limited, guests are encouraged to carpool or take public transportation to the event. Metro riders will receive special Destination Discounts at several restaurants and shops throughout the district when they show their TAP card. The Arts District is located just one block east of the Culver City Expo Stop! In addition, Culver CityBus will be offering a special $1 (One Dollar) bus fare for guests that will allow unlimited travel between Downtown Culver City and Fairfax Avenue from 12 pm – 7 pm. Guests may board the bus at participating Culver CityBus stops and purchase bus passes from the driver on the day of the event.
