Parts of downtown Culver City were blocked off Friday afternoon after the Happyland Preschool received a bomb threat. At about 3:20 p.m. a bomb threat against a Culver City preschool caused evacuations before it was found to be a hoax.
The threat was called in Friday afternoon at Happyland Preschool at 4045 Lafayette Place, according to the Culver City Police Department.
Officers responded and evacuated the school and neighboring residents, police said.
Bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to sweep the campus, "the area was deemed safe and the call determined to be a hoax," according to a police statement.
Detectives investigated the origin of the call and subsequently arrested a 16- year-old Culver City resident.
