"Raising Up Your Parents"

Presented by Elder Care Guru Susan B. Geffen

Caring for an elderly parent? Here’s your chance to get all of your elder care answers in one location.

"RAISING UP YOUR PARENTS" has been attended by more than 6,000 adults since 2009. It is a unique free seminar to help adult children, seniors and caregivers as they attempt to meet the challenges of growing older caring for others in their elder years.

The next seminar in on Saturday, April 19, at the Culver City Doubletree,10 am to noon. It is free to all.

Many adult children find themselves in crisis when they have to suddenly care for an elderly family member. Most of us are totally unprepared for the daunting financial and emotional strain we face when we have to change our routines and care for an elderly person.

"RAISING UP YOUR PARENTS" seminar answers questions about in-home care and how it differs from in-home health care. What is the difference between "Assisted Living" and a "Skilled Nursing Facility?" “What is the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia?” How can I afford care for my spouse or relative?” “How do they qualify for Medi-Cal?”

As a geriatric care manager, elder law attorney and former elder law professor, Susan B Geffen has worked closely with many families who are trying to help a parent or relative struggling with Alzheimer's or dementia or other age related health challenges.

“This is not a senior health fair. This is about getting answers to the hard questions without having to spend countless hours on the phone or navigating the internet” says Susan.

Who should come to this event? Seniors, Baby Boomers interested in planning for their elder years, adult children who are caretakers of elderly parents or relatives, and anyone who anticipates caring for an elderly person in the future.
