The Culver City Sister City Committee will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its first ever sister city relationship formed by our city fathers in 1964. Culver City and the city of Uruapan, Mexico in the state of Michoacán formalized the relationship by signing documents on February 24, 1964.
To commemorate this occasion, the Culver City Sister City Committee is inviting the public to attend a reception on Tuesday, February 24, at City Hall. Culver City Council members will attend, as will the new Consul General representing Mexico in Los Angeles, Consul General Carlos M. Sada, and associate Mario Perez Ramirez Zamora, the Consul de Asuntos Especiales.
Festivities are scheduled to begin shortly after 5 pm in the Dan Patacchia Room. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided following brief remarks from the dignitaries.
Following the reception, acknowledgements and certificates will be given and received on behalf of both cities during the 7 pm City Council meeting.
