Nine new area sports and business leaders have been elected to the Los Angeles Sports Council's board of directors for a two-year term.
Joining the 84-member board are:

Jack Caress, President, City of Los Angeles Triathlon
Tamara Christopherson, President, Southern California Olympians
Vincent Malcolm, President, Los Angeles Sparks
Brandon Martin, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Cal State Northridge
Thomas Nussbaum, Partner, Audit, KPMG LLP
Bill O'Brien, Senior Vice President & General Manager - West Region, Coca-Cola Refreshments
Tracey Russell, CEO, L.A. Marathon LLC
Rob Thun, Senior Vice President, DIRECTV, Inc.
"These new members will greatly enhance this organization's role of attracting major sporting events to our community," said Sports Council Chair Karen Brodkin.

The Los Angeles Sports Council is a private, nonprofit organization that encourages economic and community development through the promotion of spectator sports programs in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, including support of our local teams and the attraction of events to the area.
