Santa Monica has won the Ocean League football championship the last two years.
And the Vikings come to Culver City Friday night following a 76-0 rout of Beverly Hills last Friday.
However, prior to the last two years Culver City won the league title four of five years.
So Friday's game should be another memorable one in the historic series.
ST. MONICA
Following a 55-16 loss to St. Genevieve St. Monica will host St. Anthony Friday night at Corsair Field.
BRENTWOOD
The Saturday afternoon meeting with Windward will be the final home game in Patrick Brown's 35 years as Brentwood's coach.
He's retiring from coaching but will continue as a teacher at the school.
"I'm focusing on a good Windward team and trying not to think about myself. But everyone keeps asking about the significance of the day," said Brown.
The coach has turned out many successful teams over the years but this season the Eagles are struggling with a 1-5 record. Last weekend Brentwood lost to Paraclete, 51-0.
WINDWARD
Windward will arrive at Brentwood with a 6-1 record, including a 28-21 victory over Marshall last week.
VENICE
The Gondoliers annually brush off their Western League opponents and this season is no exception.
After defeating Hamilton, 49-0 Venice last weekend beat University, 48-0.
This Friday night Venice will travel to another long-time rival, Palisades.
