A long time 30+ year CC resident passed away yesterday. She was very active in the community and was a friend to many of us.

Kathy S Smith died after a courageous battle with cancer and lifelong multiple sclerosis.
She resided in Culver City for over 30 years.
Smith passed away at Cedars Sinai Hospital on Thursday, September 26. She was a loving wife and a dedicated friend.
After a career in broadcast advertising, Kathy became a passionate and effective advocate for people with disabilities, animal rights and other civil rights causes.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Bauer, her brother Steve Smith, her beloved nieces, and a large circle of dear friends spread throughout the world.
Kathy will be remembered for her sparkling humor, her positive attitude in the face of any adversity, her deep and unfailing desire for justice, her generous spirit and her warm and enthusiastic hugs.
To celebrate her life, a memorial service for Kathy will be held Sunday, September 29 at 12:00 noon at Hillside Memorial in Culver City, with a reception following for family and friends.
