Former Culver Resident Christine Walker Dies

Christine Walker, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Hawthorne on July surrounded by her loving family and husband Don Walker.

She was born in Oxnard on December 30, 1936,the third of five children. She worked as the Office Manager for Electronic Door services in Culver City for 25 years.

Then took a job at Door King for 26 years where she established great relationships with many of her co-workers. Throughout the years Chris enjoyed most being with her children whom she raised in Culver City.

She was a great friend to many, always there for everyone, loving, generous and kind. A great listener who encouraged everyone to be their “True Selves” and not what others wanted you to be She truly had a heart of gold, willing to give “the shirt off her back’ to anyone in need.

She was known to many as their second mom, having such love and inspiration to share with all. She loved traveling, horse races, and playing the daily lotto.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Don Walker, children Vicki Hicks, Linda Wardlow (husband Bob), Robin Gallagher (husband Brian), Kelly Trejo (husband Alex), Tiffany Leeker, Donny Leeker, 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Sister Ada Harness, sister-in-law Dona White.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents Plas and lily White and father and mother-in-law Pat and Docia Walker, Brother Robert, Sister Laura and Janet.

Memorial Service will be at Woodlawn cemetery on Saturday, July 20 at 1 pm and interment will follow. Celebration services following the service at the moose Lodge in Santa Monica, 1600 Ocean Ave (310-452-3702.
