Clippers’ Joe Safety Resigns After 20 Years

Los Angeles Clippers long-time Vice President of Communications Joe Safety has resigned the team announced this week.

Safety just completed his 20th season with the organization, where he acted as the primary spokesman and coordinator of all aspects of public and media relations.

The West Virginia native and graduate of West Virginia University started with the Clippers in 1993 after serving as the Director of Media Relations of the New York Yankees and the 1979 World Series Champion Pittsburgh Pirates. Safety also worked for the public relations firm of Mahoney/Wasserman and Associates and the Financial News Network before joining the Clippers.

The Clippers Communications Department now consists of Director of Communications Seth Burton, Director of Team PR and Publications Dennis Rogers, Assistant Director of Media Services and PR Ta’Nisha Cooper, Assistant Director of Communications and Publications Steven Esparza, LAC TV Host/Producer Madelyn Burke and Website Content Coordinator Eric Patten.
