Firefighters from the Culver City Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department along with water dropping helicopters made quick work of a blaze that threatened homes in Culver Crest and Ladera Heights Sunday Afternoon.
About 100 firefighters were deployed to control the fire which was reportedly stated by a blown electrical transformer.
Fire personnel attacked the blaze through Holy Cross Cemetery and positioned units on residential neighborhood streets to protect nearby homes. The fire which burned 3-4 acres took 45 minutes control.
A spokesperson for Southern California Edison said approximately 120 homes in Culver City lost power.
No structures were involved.
