West Los Angeles College Athletic Director Steve Aggers has announced that the Wildcats have hired Amber de Seriere as the new Women’s Soccer Coach. Previously, de Seriere was the Wildcats’ outstanding assistant soccer coach.
“I am extremely excited and looking forward to this wonderful opportunity of being able to continue to build this young aspiring program as its head coach,” said de Seriere said.
In addition to her experience at West for the last three seasons, de Seriere has successfully coached at the Club and high school levels for the past six years. She has also earned the United States Soccer Federation National “D” Coaching License.
“Coach de Seriere has garnered the trust and respect of our current soccer student-athletes and earned the opportunity to move into the Head Coaching role with our program. She is an individual of high character -- a dedicated and disciplined professional with great energy and enthusiasm as a coach. She cares about the personal and academic growth of our student-athletes and will build a program of which will all be very proud. Amber has a bright future in our business. We are pleased that she will continue to help us build and develop our collegiate soccer program, providing the leadership needed in moving forward,” said Aggers.
de Seriere is a former Honor Student at Mayfair high school, and a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles.
De Seriere replaces Coach Jimmie Avalos who recently accepted a full-time teaching and coaching position closer to his Santa Clarita home.
