Culver Football star Picks San Diego State

On national signing day, three Culver City High football players Wednesday made their college choices official.

Receiver and extraordinary kick returner Julius Wilson, who was recruited by the biggest football powers nationwide, selected San Diego State. In turning down such powerhouses as LSU and Michigan he made a decision to stay close to home and thought about UCLA.

But he decided San Diego State and it’s tradition of frequently throwing the ball was the best fit for him.

Centaur defensive star Deon Young, who had made a verbal commitment to Northern Arizona, followed through by signing with the school.

Quarterback Zan Cuevas chose a Division 2 school in Missouri, located 30 minutes from St. Louis.

Last season Wilson continued a brilliant Centaur career while Young made all-CIF and Cuevas, a transfer from Mira Costa, became a starter for his only Centaur season.
