Homeless counts are mandated every two years by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for all communities that receive federal funds for homeless programs.
Culver City needs volunteers to conduct a count which allows the city to more accurately track the changes in homelessness and evaluate the success of local efforts. In addition, this information is used to help advocate, plan for and secure resources to assist people to regain self-sufficiency.
Volunteers will work in teams and will receive training in recording the count. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Anyone interested in being a volunteer should email culvercityhomelesscount@aol.comor tevis.barnes@culvercity.org.
