Concert To Benefit New Culver Structure

UCLA music professor Vladimir Chernov and Santa Monica College music professors Dennis Parnell and Gary Gray will showcase their talent in an operatic benefit concert Saturday with proceeds supporting The Achievable Clinic.

The event will be held at St. Augustine-by-the-sea Episcopal Church, 1227 Fourth Street, Santa Monica at 8 pm.

The clinic is a first-of-its-kind community health clinic in Southern California that will provide specialized healthcare services to children and adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The new clinic space located in Culver City is under construction and expected to open to patients in Spring 2013.

Chernov is a Professor of Voice and an international Russian baritone who has sung at the world’s top opera houses including the Met and La Scala. Parnell, a Professor of Voice, and Gray, a collaborative pianist, are both long serving and well-regarded members of Santa Monica College’s music faculty.

The concert will feature operatic arias from Puccini, Mozart, Handel, Massenet, Wagner and Verdi. Tickets may be purchased at: www.achievable.org.
