Sip for Our Schools, Culver City Education Foundation’s fourth annual wine tasting event, was a huge success. The entire evening was a sampling of music, wines and beer tastings accompanied by appetizers and desserts.
More than 200 people were in attendance.
Upon entering the event held at The Redd Collection in Culver City, attendees were greeted by the music of the Culver City High AVPA Jazz Combo. Viewing the room you saw a microcosm of the larger Culver City community mixing and enjoying each other’s company.
City Council members and their partners were among the guests joined by Culver City’s Mayor Andrew Weissman, and his wife Doneil. School Board President, Karlo Silbiger, School Board members Kathy Paspalis and Laura Chardiet, and Assistant Superintendent, Eileen Carroll, mingled with parents from each of our schools.
Culver City businesses participated in the event -- City Tavern supplied craft beers, The Point provided a table of appetizers, and Mama Gold’s desserts were served. Thank you also goes out to event sponsors: ATS Cloud, Cakettes (Benchmark Foods), and Heather Coombs Perez and Art Perez of Heather & Art Realtors.
Trustees from CCEF poured flights of wine ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Côtes du Rhone, appealing to a wide range of wine lovers’ palates. In addition, The Redd Collection owners, Michael Carpenter and Todd Ziman, featured a tasting of premium wine flights and offered their expansive knowledge to those sitting at the bar.
CCEF is celebrating 30 years of enriching the educational experience of students in the district through community and local business donations and support.
