‘Touchdown For Youth’ Coming This Month
As part of its commitment to the Los Angeles area, the L.A. Sports Council Foundation and USC are once again teaming up on “Touchdown For Youth,” a charitable program that sends thousands of economically disadvantaged kids to a Trojans home football game each year.
The program is funded through tax-deductible contributions from individuals and corporations. For each $30 donation, one child will attend the game; USC distributes the tickets to youth groups affiliated with the university’s athletic department.
This year’s edition of Touchdown For Youth is the USC vs. Colorado game at the Coliseum on Saturday, October 20.
Anyone interested in contributing to Touchdown For Youth may phone (213) 482-6333.
“Touchdown For Youth can provide a special experience to young people who may never have been on a campus or inside the Coliseum, perhaps inspiring them to one day pursue a college education,” said USC Athletic Director Pat Haden. “Hopefully, we’ll have a great turnout and the kids will help cheer on the Trojans to a win.”
More than two thousand youngsters attended last season’s Touchdown For Youth game (USC vs. Syracuse).
