Quake Rattles Culver

Seismologists say a mild earthquake widely felt throughout Southern California Wednesday was centered near Culver City in the Kentwood area of Westchester.

The magnitude-3.7 quake struck at 3:18 a.m. The epicenter was two miles east-southeast of Marina del Rey Near Kentwood Elementary School.

Dozens of residents from as far away as Riverside and the San Fernando Valley logged onto the USGS website to report feeling the quake. Two hundred six Culver City residents reported the event on the USGS website.

Firefighters in Culver City rolled out of stations citywide and surveyed the city. No infrastructure or other damage was found. No injuries were reported.
