Special to the Observer

Ana is still a beautiful and healthy woman who makes people laugh with her unique sense of humor. Back in 2009, when she turned 100 she said, “tranquility is the elixir of youth.” Now 3 years later at 103, she is still full of life and hasn’t lost her sense of humor.
Ana was born in Colombia South America (Madrid Cundinamarca) on July 25, 1909. However, she has lived in Culver City for half of her life with her daughter Elizabeth. Five days a week, Monday thru Friday, Ana and Elizabeth still go to Olympus ADHC, a club that provides activities for seniors. A typical day involves a morning of exercising, socializing and reading. After that Ana goes home to rest a little and begins her afternoon of crocheting--- an activity that she says she loves because it keeps her mind and eyes sharp.
Ana says she is fortunate to have such a loving extended family, including five children, nine grandsons, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. They are all celebrating Ana’s life. Ana is modest and says she is very proud of her family and that is part of her long life.
