Kenny Heitz, a forward who played on three UCLA national championship basketball teams, died Monday at 65.
In recent years he had suffered from cancer.
Heitz stared with Lew Alcindor, Sidney Wicks, Curtis Rowe, Lynn Shackleford, Mike Warren and John Vallely on John Wooden’s championship teams from 1967 through 1969.
The Bruins’ dynasty continued and present Culver City High basketball coach Jon Chapman arrived and, although playing sparingly, was a member of three more NCAA title teams.
