West Los Angeles College has received a large grant from the National Science Foundation to assist academically talented, low income students achieve degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Twenty scholarships will be awarded each year throughout the grant period. Awards can be as high as $2,700 per semester or $5,400 per academic year. Students who receive the West STEM scholarships will also benefit from special academic programs and support services.
Applicants may be recent high school graduates, existing West students, or other college students who intend to transfer to West. Applicants must have at least a 2.75 GPA and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applications are due by Friday, July 27, 2012.
