With the expansion of the Metro Expo Line to Culver City, several local bus lines will change their regular schedules in order to accommodate the Expo Line’s opening on Wednesday.

The new routes will take effect on Sunday.

The Metro Line 217 route that goes from Hollywood and Vine to the Culver Transit station at Fairfax and Washington will have select trips extended south along former route 439 and will travel down Jefferson past the Expo Lines’ Jefferson/La Cienega Station.

Line 220, which travels from the Beverly Center via Robertson, will have modifications to stop at the Expo Line Culver City Station.

Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus will change the number 12 route, which beginning Sunday will go from UCLA to the Culver City Expo Station.

Art Ida, the Director of Transportation for Culver City, said we can expect the following from the Culver CityBus. Ida states that Line 7, which runs from Fisherman’s Village in Marina Del Rey to Venice Blvd. along Culver Boulevard, will run every 30 minutes instead of every hour.

Ida commented that Line 1, which runs past the new Expo Line Culver City Station every 12 minutes, will remain the same.

Ida said “we are keeping an eye on ridership to see if any further changes are necessary.”
