Election Results Are Verified
The City Clerk's Office received the results of the signature verification and completed the ballot counting process for the April 10 Culver City Council election. Of the 743 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots, 706 passed the verification. The final counting of ballots for the General Municipal Election held on April 10, 2012 was completed on Wednesday afternoon.
The remaining ballots had no effect on the outcome of the election. The results (presented in order of votes received):
Andrew Weissman: 3,083 (elected to a full for year term)
Meghan Sahli-Wells: 2,909 (elected to a full for year term)
Micheal O’Leary: 2,825 (elected to a full for year term)
Jim B. Clarke: 2,753 (elected to an unexpired term of approximately two years)
Scott Malsin: 2,370
Stephen Murray: 965
Measure X: Yes: 3,634 No: 720
The certified results of the election will be available on the City’s website and will be presented to the City Council for certification on results April 23 at the regular council meeting.
Council will select a new Mayor and Vice Mayor at that meeting. O’Leary is currently serving as Mayor and the position of Vice Mayor has been vacant since Malsin’s resignation in December.
