STAR Eco Children's Earth Day - The Largest

On Earth Day, April 22 the STAR Eco Station hosts its free, 12th Annual Children’s Earth Day, not only the largest earth day celebration especially for children in California, but the largest Earth Day event in all of LA.

Last year more than 40,000 parents and children attended Children’s Earth Day to learn about environmentally conscious practices and the delicate balance of our ecosystem. Featuring presentations by environmentalists, live entertainment, environmentally-themed games, rides, food, crafts, prizes, vendors, face painting and more, Children’s Earth Day was celebrated by the LA Times as “The Best Earth Day Pick.”

Everyone at Children’s Earth Day can learn to be green. STAR’s Plant a Million Seeds of Joy Campaign is encouraging children to plant over a million indigenous Californian flowers. Guests can grab free seeds of their own and learn how to add native greenery to their own gardens.

Learn how you and your family can get involved from environmental organizations such as the STAR Eco Station, Heal the Bay, Surfrider Foundation and TreePeople. Booths are powered by solar power and biodiesel. Admission is free, with discounted tours of the STAR Eco Station available.

For 15 years, the STAR Eco Station, a nonprofit, environmental science museum and wildlife rescue center in Culver City, has provided ground-breaking environmental science education programs for students and the community, as well as educational outreach programs and a home for rescued exotic animals with nowhere else to go.

Dedicated to “Preservation through Education,” and recognized by the United Nations, the STAR Eco Station serves as a venue connecting visitors, students and the community with projects and activities that inspire a new breed of environmental heroes.
