Veterans Memorial Building to Have Grand Re-Opening
The City of Culver City’s Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department invites
the public to attend the grand re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly
renovated Veterans Memorial Building.
The event will be held on Friday at 11 am in front of Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 4117 Overland
Avenue.
The $461,300 renovation project began on January 3. The renovation includes
the reconstruction of the facility’s restrooms and cosmetic improvements to the six
meeting rooms and five classrooms. The project also includes new seating in the lower
level of the Auditorium and the addition of a family changing room.
The renovation project has made the Complex a more welcoming, brighter, and more comfortable
environment.
The project was a collaborative effort, and the Parks, Recreation and Community
Services Department would like to thank:
• The Culver City Public Works Department for its construction management,
support and guidance throughout the process.
• The Culver City Senior Citizens Association for its financial support in the
amount of $5,500 to enhance the Multipurpose and Rotunda rooms.
• The contractor Damon, Inc.
The City worked hard to lessen the impact of the renovation by accommodating users
into other City facilities during this renovation.
“We are very excited to invite the Culver City community back to the newly renovated
and enhanced Veterans Memorial Building! This project will allow the City to host a
wider variety of events for our community and visitors to enjoy”, said Mayor Micheál
O’Leary.
