6th ANNUAL COMMUNITY-WIDE DISASTER DRILL TONIGHT AT 7:00PM

Tonight, October 21st at 7:00pm, the City of Culver City will conduct its 6th Annual Community-Wide Disaster Drill. In years past the drill was conducted on December 7th. Effective this year, and subsequent years, we will now conduct the drill on the same day as California’s Great ShakeOut.

Participation in the disaster drill includes completion of a family disaster plan, putting together a disaster supply kit, knowing the location of utility shut offs, and utilizing the “OK” sign to signal emergency personnel.

At 7:00pm, personnel from the Culver City Fire Department, Culver City Police Department, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Culver City Amateur Radio Emergency Services (CCARES), and other city departments, will be practicing their disaster plans by patrolling city streets and neighborhoods and counting “OK” signs. Counts will be reported back to a mobile command center which this year, will be located at Lindberg Park, 5401 Rhoda Way.

Feel free to join us at Lindberg Park so that you can see firsthand a disaster operation in motion. But most importantly don’t forget, “Emergency Preparedness Begins With You”.
