The doors have swung open to the new Sprouts Farmers Market, a 29,130 square-foot grocery store that has replaced the shuttered Circuit City outlet at 5660 Sepulveda Boulevard.
About 100 workers have been hired to staff the new store, the chain’s 51st opening since the company was founded as a small produce stand in 1943. The market is about a block east of the recently remodeled Westfield Shopping Center.
The Phoenix-based company specializes in providing low-cost natural and organic foods, including mountains of fresh produce, all-natural meats, seafood that is delivered six days a week, and more than 300 bins of bulk rice, spices, nuts and grains.
The market is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
