The Culver City Senior Citizens Association (CCSA) is a membership association, and annual registration and dues ($10 per calendar year) will start again on January 5 and continue weekdays until January 15, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Center, 4095 Overland Avenue, corner Culver Blvd. (You will be allowed to register at other times, but there’s a team of volunteers dedicated to speed up the process during these times.)

There are lots of special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services scheduled at local houses of worship – google your favorite and find out the times and special activities and add something special to the season.

The Culver City Elks Lodge #1917 will be holding its Annual New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday, December 31 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Lodge, 11160 Washington Place. Members are encouraged to invite family and friends for an exciting evening of fun starting with dinner, then dancing to the great music of Dean and Richard. There’ll even be Casino gaming, hats, party favors, and a midnight champagne toast. The cost is $40 per person, so call (310) 839-8891 to see if you can still get in!

Feeling a little chilly? Mark your calendars now for Saturday, January 9 when it’s really going to get cold at Veterans’ Park. It’ll be a real “Winter Wonderland” between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., when tons of snow will be gently dumped into the park to make a wintery play area. There will be a play area for small children and sled runs for the older kids, plus food, games and activities, all free! Call the Recreation Office at (310) 253-6650 for more information.

Naughty? Nice? You know who you are! Wishing everyone a warm and wonderful holiday, whether Santa visits you, or you ARE Santa; it’s fun to share a smile!
