CCUSD has 6,000 doses of H1N1 nasal mist vaccines, which should be enough to vaccinate CCUSD students, staff and some families.
According to school nurse Dianna Castro, "Our goal is to offer the vaccines first to students and staff and then offer them to families and the community. The H1N1 nasal mist vaccines will be available to students and adults up to age 50. We should have some injections of H1N1 within the next week or two for those people 50 years old and up."
The District is currently working on setting dates for the vaccination clinics. In addition, the District hopes to have the FluMist nasal vaccine - to combat the regular seasonal flu - some time next week.
