Jeff Cooper led Meghan Sahli-Wells by 42 votes. While it wasn’t an insurmountable lead it seemed reasonable that Cooper had almost assuredly won the election. The filing deadline arrived Tuesday and the four candidates who had announced they would run for two available City Council seats turned in their papers. The Culver-Palms Family YMCA celebrated the kickoff of its Annual Support Campaign last month at Culver Events with a donation of $7,500 from the Culver City Exchange Club. The Culver City Exchange Club in conjunction with the Disability Advisory Committee hosted the Seventh Annual Carnival for Children with Disabilities and their families at the Culver City Senior Center. Disabled children played carnival games run by Girl Scout volunteers and won prizes while Exchangites and the Senior Citizens Association served families pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs.
