    Debbie Lynn Elias|Oct 3, 2012

A perfect blend of creativity, technology, artistry and heart, FRANKENWEENIE is a love story about a boy and his dog that began some 50 years ago. It’s also a love story about the magic of moviemaking and yes, even, a love story about Burbank, California. • Dear Editor

    Oct 3, 2012

As a veteran I proudly salute Marcus Tiggs for his "A Different Look at Measure Y" (Aug. 23-29 2012 issue of Culver City Observer). I have received requested public documents from our City Hall and Sacramento and, much to my surprise, I discovered the following: 1. In 2010 we had nine retirees who each received monthly pension checks of over $10,000. 2. As of this Spring it was 24 retirees each getting over $10,000 per month. 3. Presently our little city of 40,000 has over 550 retirees getting a total of well over $1,500,000 per month. 4. In...

    Dale Williams, Observer Reporter|Oct 3, 2012

Centaurs Flub Chances In Defeat In only its second matchup against a team from the CIF-Southern Section’s highest division, the Culver City High football team had every opportunity to pull off a big upset. Instead, the Centaurs beat themselves as much as —or maybe even more than — Bishop Amat did. The Centaurs certainly had their chances last Friday against the Pac-5 Division Lancers, but despite having the football inside the Bishop Amat 20-yard line the first three times they had the ball, they came away with zero points. The Angels made a gallant late season rush, only to be eliminated when the Oakland Athletics, a team in their same division, did even more spectacular things and took the playoff berth the Angels sought. Both the Dodgers and Angels waited too long to make their serious runs and that’s what they should think about this winter. But let’s go bac...
