By Sarah Storkin The Jonathan Club on Santa Monica Beach hired a Giraffe named Jax for their private Labor Day event. The animal was intended to entertain kids, but ended up going viral on Twitter after being "spotted" by stunned beachgoers. These included KTTV's Bill Melugin, who shot some viral vid-eo. When photographed being walked down the beach, the animal was apparently taking a break from his duties entertaining children at the J-Clubs Labor Day kids party. Twitter users were divided...

By David Ganezer, Observer Staff Writer 9/8/21: In an act of political violence, a woman or girl wearing a gorilla mask hurled an egg at Larry Elder. Elder, a black Conservative , is a candidate for California Governor in what Dems have labelled "the Republican recall." The proposal approved Thursday requires all eligible students 12 years of age and older to receive their first...

    Sep 16, 2021

By David Ganezer Observer Staff Writer Authorities may claim success in removing homeless people from the Venice boardwalk, a task that seemed impossible at the beginning of the summer. In my Labor Day visit to the Boardwalk, I saw no homeless encampments in a four block stretch from Windward Circle North. The area was filled with homeless tents and makeshift huts just 8 weeks ago. "It started about six weeks ago" said Keith Parker, whose family owns Big Daddy's Pizza near Horizon and the Boardwalk. "I credit Sheriff Villeneuva. He came here wi...

  • Zoning is Racist

    Sep 16, 2021

Samuel Alioto, Observer Staff Writer The California State Legislature has approved Assembly Bill 721 whose stated purpose is to "remove exclusionary and racist provisions in housing covenants." Actually, the bill cites "racism" to do what the Democratic controlled legislature has wanted to do for years: Greatly increase the density of R1 and R2 zoning, to replace single family homes occupied by older white people, with high density housing. "AB 721 is a crucial step in remedying California's painful history of segregation and redlining," said...
