    The Culver Eastside community of Rancho Higuera will hold its annual “Rock the Block” neighborhood party on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The gala will be held in the 8900 block of Krueger Street. Admission is free, but community members and their visitors are encouraged to bring a potluck dish to share.     The Culver City Elks will host its annual American Red Cross community blood drive on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Lodge headquarters, 11160 Washington Place. Each pint of blood that’s donated can save up to three lives, the Red Cross says. Last year’s event at the Culver Elks Lodge raised dozens of pints. As a bonus this year, the Red Cross will send each donor a $5 Amazon.com gift card via email. Walk-ins are welcome.
