Thank you, CC Observer for your detailed coverage of fracking. From all appearances, this is a terribly dangerous process. Shouldn't PXP and the other oil companies have to prove fracking is safe for humans, water and buildings before undertaking it? (The answer is yes) I hope as many people as possible will show up to the meeting in the Culver City City Hall council chambers next Tuesday, June 12, at 7 p.m., when the State of California will attempt to convince us that fracking is perfectly safe. Because I believe in democracy, I proudly served our country during the Vietnam war. Today I feel compelled to serve the USA, our State of California and the people of Culver City by speaking out on how Big Oil is trying to buy out the very democracy so many risked our lives to preserve. As other oil companies have lobbyists trying to buy out our state by funding campaigns for weak and ineffective regulations, I get concerned that PXP may try to buy out Culver City. For example, PXP and the State oil and gas regulators spoke to over 100 people...

  • Clippers Make Right Decision, Retain Coach

    Mitch Chortkoff|Jun 6, 2012

Vinny Del Negro will coach the Clippers again next season and that’s the right decision. The Clippers have had a dismal history which includes replacing coaches too often. Clippers President Andy Roeser and general manager Neil Olshey went to Sterling and said they were in agreement that Del Negro should be retained. Sterling listened and agreed. There was considerable speculation late in the season that Del Negro was in trouble...
