    Culver City resident Esther Winslow graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in Nursing on May 5 and joined nearly 1,400 graduates at the spring commencement ceremonies.   • Over $5,000 Raised For Culver City High

    Airport Marina Ford and Ford Motor Company have partnered to help raise money in support of Culver City High as part of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program. Culver City community members helped raise over $5,000 for Culver City High by test driving Ford vehicles and hosting a car wash during the event. Airport Marina Ford worked with Culver City High to host the one-day event lat the school.     Another all day book sale with thousands of titles to choose from will be available on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm at the Julian Dixon Culver City Library. Most books are $1. Volunteers are needed. Setup starts at 7:30 a.m. and breaking the sale down begins at 2:30 pm. Volunteers can sign up for the first shift, 7:30am to11:30 or the second shift, 11:30 am to -3:30 pm.     The 2012 Relay for Life will be held this weekend on the Culver City High football field. The event will begin Saturday at 9 am and end at 9 am Sunday. The Opening Ceremony will include the survivor lap. The Luminaria Ceremony will be held at 9 pm Saturday with the Fight Back program at 8:30 am Sunday followed by the closing ceremony’s following at 9 am Sunday.     As the Ocean League champion, Culver City High will begin the CIF baseball playoffs in a home game Friday at 3 pm. The Centaurs will host an opponent to be determined following a wild card round earlier in the week. By defeating defending champion Santa Monica, 7-6 and 1-0 last week the Centaurs completed a 10-0 league season. It’s the first time in school history Culver City has gone undefeated in the league.
