    Culver City fire fighters along with Santa Monica and Beverly Hills Fire formed a strike team to assist with the Colby Fire in the San Gabriel Mountains last week. Officials said the strike team was deployed to protect a water facility, homes and some avocado orchards The Colby fire burned almost 2,000 acres, five homes before it was brought under control. Investigators from the Contractors State Licensing Board made the announcement on Thursday.
