    Steve Finley|Aug 4, 2016

The world and especially Los Angeles is a better place because of people like Don Buford. The former major league baseball star is still an energizer bunny at the age of 79. When most people his age are working in the garden or playing golf Buford is running local youth league programs, speaking at local colleges and throwing out the first ball at local baseball events. “I feel very fortunate to still be thought of as a local hero,” said Buford after he threw the ceremonial first pitch for the...

He is smart and he has a great feel for the game. He can make all o...

The Lakers had Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. The Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA have Nneka Ogwumike and Candace Parker. Like any championship team every player on that roster plays an important role in that team's success. All 12 women on the Sparks roster are...

During their 77-67 win over the New York Liberty last Sunday All-Star forward Candace Parker played defense against her own teammate Kristi Toliver during the last few seconds of the game. Now that's having fun....

  • Sparks Fly As LA Stays Unbeaten At 8-0

    Steve Finley|Jun 9, 2016

The Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA are winning games and seem to be having fun. After their 100- 77 victory over the New York Liberty at the Staples Center last Tuesday the Sparks look like a team on a mission. This is a big turnaround from last season when players reported to the team late and injuries kept key players out of the lineup from the beginning of the season to the end. Against USC he showed why he was so highly recruited out of Chandler High School in Arizona. His performance against USC will go down as one of the best games played by a...
